ALLOW US TO INTRODUCE YOU TO “Lobster Movement”

a unique space for FREE DANCE — a safe, informal and inclusive environment where everyone can express themselves freely through movement, regardless of experience or dance style.

Picture a space where you arrive in an informal setting, music starts playing, and everyone begins to dance at their own pace and in their own style.

We believe dance should be accessible to everyone and free from the expectations and structures that often define existing dance spaces.

Between the crowded atmosphere of clubs and the structured world of dance classes, Lobster creates a space for something different — a place to move intuitively, explore, connect and simply enjoy dancing.

DIVERSIFYING MUSIC LANDSCAPE

We aim to diversify the music landscape by introducing a variety of genres and styles. Through our network of musicians and music lovers from across Europe, we curate playlists that invite people to discover new sounds and explore different ways of dancing.

By bringing different genres and dance styles together, we create space for exploration, spontaneity and new forms of self-expression.

A FREE SPACE — A COLLECTIVE EFFORT

Lobster is a volunteer-driven, non-profit initiative. We aim to keep the sessions accessible to everyone by finding a space offered to us at no cost. Sometimes this is not possible, so a free donation model is applied to cover the rental costs.

WHY LOBSTER?

The name was inspired by The Lobster, the film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, where dance, gestures and body movement become metaphors for freedom, intimacy, loneliness and social control.

Who's behind the Project?

Allow me to introduce myself, I'm MARINA UROSEVIC, the initiator of Lobster Movement. As an architect deeply passionate about dance, I've been professionally immersed in various dance forms since the age of 8. My journey spans Latin dances like Rumba, Jive, and ChaCha, ballroom dances such as Waltz and Tango, modern and experimental dance + Flamenco! Adding to the mix, I've spent a year as an aerobics instructor and can be regularly spotted practicing Bikram Yoga...and on all dance floors.
